Floating grapes, a dog's heart beat and some feathery superstars helped to launch Dame Bradbury's Discovery Week in memorable style.
Science Subject Leader Mrs Bullen-Smith, with Year 6 pupils Josie and Daniel, opened proceedings with an Assembly which focused on discoveries past and present - and revealed some weighty facts about coca cola.
Some of Monday's discoveriesThe day's many events included a talk by two vets (and Dame B's parents) to Reception and Nursery, sticky but ambitious construction with marshmallows and spaghetti, the creation and testing of flying hoops and some rigorous PE stamina challenges.
The Raptor Foundation's day-long visit with owls and hawks had the children entranced - some sketched, some dissected owl pellets and all of them enjoyed a spectacular flying display.

Whizz the barn owl's preference for some of the higher roosts in the Rainey Hall had the children both gasping and laughing with delight.
