Dame Bubbles' School

2nd March 2010

Bubbles were all over the place on the second day of Discovery Week - as well as rockets, flying frogs, minibeasts and bandages.

The Science Museum brought three wonderful shows to the School: The Bubble Show, Three Little Pigs and Feel the Force. The children found out about the wonders of a square bubble, the strength and weakness of materials and the extraordinary properties of the forces.Pictures from the Bubble Show

A few lucky pupils were encased in giant bubbles, Mr Hewlett and Mrs Crouch became temporary Scots, some of the Infants turned into pigs (and a wolf) and there were tussles over a pair of giant magnets.

Some of Tuesday's discoveriesMeanwhile - as if that were not enough entertainment for the day - Year 5s learnt First Aid, several classes went on Nature Trails and there were DT, IT, Music and cookery classes.

At breaktime, the playground was buzzing with bubble-blowers and bandagers, soaking up the glorious sunshine (at last!).
