Animal antics and animal art

5th March 2010

Animals of various shapes and sizes were the theme for the final day of Discovery Week.

A skunk, a snake, stick insects, a hedgehog and Alba the barn owl (who escaped into the beams of the Theatre and would not come down!) were all visitors from Shepreth Wildlife Park. The children marvelled at the softness of the skunk and kept a good distance from the hedgehog prickles!Images from Friday

Reception went inside the Essex Recycling Bus and learned all about the importance of taking care of the environment, before making some spendid box puppets.

The week ended with an absorbing workshop by 'Horrible Science' illustrator Tony de Saulles. Surely, never had so many children concentrated so long or so silently - and the end result was that they had all discovered they could draw.
