The Arts

"Art, Music and Design Technology make strong expressive and creative contributions and pupils benefit from the teaching they receive in these and many other subjects."Independent Schools Inspectorate

The creative and performing arts are enormously valued at Dame Bradbury's - so much so that we have a full-time specialist Art/DT teacher and visiting teachers of Dance, Ballet, Speech and Drama.

There are four school plays a year, two major concerts and a Carol Concert, as well as regular opportunities for children to present and perform in front of their peers in form Assemblies. Other musical opportunities include our two choirs, orchestra and a number of instrumental ensembles.

The annual Art Exhibition is a local highlight and displays of the children's work can be seen all year throughout the School. We run trips to venues such as The Henry Moore Foundation in Hertfordshire and The National Gallery in London, while sketching and painting form part of other trips, such as our visits to Hildersham and Snowdonia.

Our Head, Mrs Crouch, supported by other head teachers, runs an annual Performing Arts Day for Year 6 children in local primary schools, offering workshops in DT, Music, IT, Dance and Art.
