“My favourite lesson is IT. It’s great fun because you get to do things like animation and making computer games.” Louis

From seeing a favourite painting via a National Gallery app to searching for information for a project and playing Warhammer, computers and the internet are very much part of school life.

In Years 1 and 2, we make sure the children are comfortable with the technology and can perform a wide range of simple tasks, such as saving and printing, using keywords and pictograms and making use of websites, programs and apps to find information.

But it doesn’t stop there. The also learn to deal confidently with text, pictures and sound so they can start to explore their creativity. When you can use an iPad to make an owl animation, play your own music or invent a game, technology becomes a passion rather than a means to an end.

Activities range from word processing, painting, using simulations, programming robotic models and mind mapping to travelling the world online with Barnaby Bear.
