Our Founder, Dr Stephen Perse, was an academic and learned philanthropist who realised the essential role of education as an enabler of social mobility. He believed that an outstanding education should be a right, rather than a privilege, accessible to all. In keeping with Dr Perse’s philosophy, we seek to offer a first-class education to academically able and determined children and young people regardless of their family circumstances.
Many of our bursaries, scholarships and outreach activities are funded by donors who make lifetime gifts, or leave legacies in their Will. Our donors include alumni, staff, family members of our students, alumni and staff, and other individual, corporate and trust partners, all united by their desire to give the gift of education.

The Stephen Perse Guild was founded in 1903 as the Old Perseans Guild, and the Guild Opportunities Fund supports children and young people in accessing the full benefits of a Stephen Perse Cambridge education and the enhanced opportunities that this enables, thanks to the generosity of Guild members and friends. It removes barriers of cost for eligible students in line with our vision of an outstanding educational environment.
In this film, our school community members explain the transformative impact of bursary awards for all of us in school and in wider society.

Donations of all sizes make a very real difference to the children and young people we educate. Your support will help to ensure they have the best chance to achieve their potential by accessing the outstanding breadth of opportunity and quality of experience provided by a Stephen Perse education.
We have a comprehensive Careers and Guidance programme, which is strengthened greatly by real world examples and experience, with students hearing directly from people in different roles and fields. There are many areas you may be able to help, click below to find out more.

Leaving a gift of any size in your will to Stephen Perse Cambridge helps us to sustain and extend access to the exceptional education we offer.
Philanthropy has been part of our history since our founding, thanks to Dame Bradbury and Dr Stephen Perse and all those who have followed in their footsteps to support education at our school since. In addition to life-time gifts, legacies, also known as bequests, allow alumni and other members of the Stephen Perse Cambridge community to give gifts to enable the school to continue to provide a life-changing education to academically able children and young people from Cambridge, Saffron Walden and the surrounding areas, regardless of their family circumstances.

Costello Medical is a global healthcare agency specialising in medical communications and health economics and outcomes research (HEOR). It provides scientific analysis, interpretation and communication of clinical and health economic data to pharmaceutical, MedTech and patient-focussed organisations.
Since 2021, Costello Medical has also been part of the Stephen Perse Cambridge - North Cambridge Academy (NCA) schools partnership. The company generously funds Sixth Form bursary places at Stephen Perse Cambridge Sixth Form for NCA alumni and offers work experience, mentoring and training to NCA students and alumni, increasing awareness of and access to a range of career paths and role models that NCA students would otherwise find it difficult to access.
We are delighted to share that AstraZeneca recently committed to join our longstanding partnership with North Cambridge Academy and Costello Medical. Through the existing partnership, we have already jointly created meaningful opportunities for young people in Arbury and King’s Hedges, from in-school enrichment to workplace experiences and fully funded Sixth Form bursary places at Stephen Perse Cambridge. AstraZeneca’s involvement marks an important next step in expanding these pathways.
Working together, we aim to broaden the academic, pastoral, and aspirational support available to students; we look forward to updating parents as this work progresses early next year.
Stephen Perse Cambridge are committed in their support of NCA and their students, and recently donated 320 iPads to the school.
We work with North Cambridge Academy (NCA) to enhance their academic offering by providing additional teaching resources and support. These include:
Cambs Youth Panel believes that every child and young person requires a computer, especially to complete their studies on the required learning platform.
Stephen Perse Cambridge has donated a total of 90 iPads and 21 iMacs to Cambs Youth Panel as part of an ongoing partnership of technological donations.
The Cambs Youth Panel is made up of young people from Cambridgeshire and meets virtually to discuss the key issues that influence the quality of life in the region that they feel need to be addressed. The panel will use the donated iPads from Stephen Perse Cambridge to widen access to technology in and around Cambridge.
Andrew Brett, Chief Information Officer at Stephen Perse Cambridge, said: "Phil and his team do some fantastic work providing devices to young people in our local community that need them the most, and we are very pleased to be able to help with that.”
