  • We believe the key to happy, relaxed and confident children and young people is the freedom to be themselves, to explore, learn, and develop without feeling the need to hide or curtail their enthusiasms to fit in or be cool.

Here, it’s cool to be interested, cool to go to Maths extension or Creative Writing Club, it’s cool to sign up to join our team for the Ethics Cup or to opt to research the potential applications of AI in neuroscience for your EPQ.

Our community looks out for one another, and every individual is truly seen, known, understood, and celebrated.

    Our Ethos

To foster a community of responsible global citizens, who make a positive impact on the world.

    L’esprit de son âge

Historically, our original school motto referred to "l’esprit de son âge", in reference to thinking, acting, and feeling in a way that is in tune with the current era, its mindset, and modern ways of thinking.

This still lives on today. We are a buzzy, innovative school that rejects the rigid traditions of independent education.

We are first and foremost an academically rigorous group of co-educational schools for ages 1–18, set within a warm, friendly environment with exceptional pastoral care. Our students succeed not through academic pressure, but by developing a genuine curiosity and love for learning.

I have long regarded Stephen Perse Cambridge as my home - a place where I truly feel a sense of belonging.

    A legacy of special bonds

Our culture is rooted in our history as the Perse School for Girls. Anna Bidder - a former student from the early 20th century, zoologist, and founding President of Lucy Cavendish College -later paid tribute to the unique friendliness of the staff-pupil relationship, describing it as "a sort of tradition."

That tradition continues at Stephen Perse Cambridge today. We foster deep, trusting, mutually respectful relationships between students and teachers, ensuring every student is seen, known, and understood.

This spirit of connection extends across our entire community. As 2007 alumna Heather Milbar reflected, the school "introduced me to some of my most inspiring teachers and many of my closest friends, with whom I am still in touch to this day."

Whenever I needed guidance, my teachers were always there to reassure me, build my confidence, and help me evolve into the best version of myself.

Our strong sense of community extends across all of our schools, where students support each other and build lifelong friendships.
